Day #1:  We meet at our departure point (Holiday Inn-Bayside) early in the morning and travel south through the interesting and changing Baja Peninsula scenery.  At lunch you will have the opportunity to view a well preserved ancient rock art cave site.  Dinner this evening will be at an authentic Mexican restaurant that caters to the local population.   Keith will give a brief familiarization talk and will then go into detail about what the whales are up to at the moment.

Days #2 and 4 :Meet for breakfast and then travel to the lagoon where we will spend the day whale watching, lunch will be served by the friendly Palapa crew. Then weather permitting a second trip out onto the lagoon may be in order. The afternoon and evening are unstructured. Dinner your second night in town is normally the Baja Jones Bar B Q at our Guerrero Negro home.  We have a great meal with the best margaritas in Mexico.  Keith talks and answers gray whale questions until late in the evening.  This is always a fun evening.  Stump our expert with a gray whale question and he will buy you a great Lobster dinner at Marios Restaurant.

Day #3 : Meet for breakfast. Today we venture to the outer lagoon. We expect to see more mating adults, possibly closer views of breeching and fewer babies.  Time permitting those who aren't too tired can take an interesting ride out to El Faro(the lighthouse) for birdwatching and general sight seeing. Afterwards we will relax at Marios Palapa while enjoying a truly wonderful bar-b-que in the late afternoon. Margarita's, carne asada, guacamole and a nice sunset will end another exciting day of whale watching.

Day #5:  (For some of the combo trips today will be the travel to Loreto day as outlined for day #6 below)  Today those in the gray whale group who are returning to San Diego will leave early in the morning.  Those of you continuing on to Loreto to join the Loreto whale watching adventure will have a relaxing day off to explore the town and surrounding areas.

Day #6:  We leave Guerrero Negro and travel 90 miles across the peninsula to the Sea of Cortez.  Lunch is at the quaint town of Mulege.  Following lunch a 2 1/2 hour drive along the rugged shoreline will get us to Loreto.  We'll check into our interesting shoreside hotel, the Loreto Isla Hotel and later have dinner in the hotel dining room overlooking the Sea of Cortez.  At dinner Keith will talk about the whale watching and tell you a little bit about the town.

Day #7, 8, 9:  Each day we venture out onto the Sea of Cortez in search of Blue Whales, Fin Whales, Humpback Whales and Dolphins by the hundreds.  The daily whale watch normally includes lunch on one of the numerous secluded off shore islands.  We stay out on the water anywhere from 4 to 8 hours daily.

Day #10 (for some combo trips this will be day #9):  Today is departure day.  There are two options available for the combination group travelers.  The quickest and easiest return is to book your return to your home via a scheduled airline leaving from the Loreto International Airport.   Or you can choose to ride north with the Baja Jones crew returning today to Guerrero Negro and then on the next day to the Holiday Inn-Bayside.  The choice is yours.

Note:  Our daily itineraries are only a guide to what you may expect.  Each day brings a unique mix of weather conditions and animal activities.  Sometimes we alter the normal itinerary to better enhance your experience.  Our primary mission is to help you to experience the World's Greatest Whale Watching in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
