Fantastic whale watching in a Mexican resort atmosphere. One of the best kept secrets in whale watching is this
superior location. Whales begin arriving in Bahia Banderas in November. But
the Mexican government has closed whale watching here until December 15th. This
allows the whales time to acclimatize to the area before boats begin coming around them. |

The humpbacks journey from the
North Pacific in a 4000 to 6000 mile migration. They come here each year to give
birth and to mate. The Bay is a much better location for the humpbacks than off the
coast of Hawaii. The water is shallower, warmer and affords better protection from
predators. Because the area is smaller than that around the Hawaiian Islands a
higher concentration of whales occurs. |

Two trip dates
available in 2005
5 day trip December 14th - 18th --- $1,495
be the first whale watchers of the year.
6 day trip December 17th - 22nd --- $1,795 |
This
concentrating of population allows male and females to find one another easier. It
also brings us whale watchers into closer contact with more whales than we could ever
expect in the areas offshore of the Hawaiian Islands. |
| One of
the nice things about this trip is that you can add time onto the beginning or the end if
you want. It's simple and allows you to take all the time you want to explore the
area around Puerto Vallarta. |
