We learned that icebergs can be dangerous if approached
too close because a portion of the berg can suddenly break off. Or sometimes an
iceberg will suddenly turn upside down. These unexpected rotations could easily sink
a ship. We approached one iceberg close enough to touch, but it was a somewhat
flatter shaped piece of ice.
