Itinerary for 5 day Gray whale trip
Itinerary
for combination blue whale and gray whale watching |
Day
1: We will meet you at
the airport, then go directly to the motel. Most of our clients use
Horizon Airlines (Alaska Air) from Los Angeles direct to Loreto, B.C.S.
Once you're settled into the El Dorado Hotel (or whichever hotel we might
use) we generally have an orientation meeting and discuss the particulars
of the coming whale watching trips. There is usually some unstructured
time scheduled until dinner. At
dinner we'll talk about what to expect while out on the water.

Day
2, 3 & 4: We'll have
breakfast and then depart on our Blue Whale quest. 4 to 6 hours on
the water and then back to Loreto Harbor. We expect each of these days
to be similar, but marine conditions and whale watching can be wildly different
from day to day. That is part of the excitement of this type of adventure.
Once we are back in town, the late afternoon will be yours to do with as
you please.
There is an interesting street of artisans and T-shirt shops just
a couple blocks from the motel. The mission (Baja's first mission)
is nearby as well. Dinner will be in one of several nice restaurants
within walking distance of the ocean our of hotel. |
Our four day Blue whale trips have the same itinerary, but
only two days of whale watching. |
| |
Day
5: Today is departure and travel home
day. Following breakfast you normally have a couple hours free time before
leaving for the airport. We arrange your transport back to the
hotel to meet the timing of your flight, normally around a 2:00
PM departure.

Note: Our
daily itineraries are only a guide to what you may expect. Each
day brings a unique mix of weather conditions and animal activities. Sometimes
we alter the normal itinerary to better enhance your experience. Our
primary mission is to help you to experience the World's Greatest
Whale Watching in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
Weather can be a factor on any given day.Winter on the Sea of Cortez
can mean some very windy days that might force us to cancel whale watching
that day. Our experience over the past 10 seasons has been that weather
conditions with wind too strong for us to leave the harbor almost never
last more than one day. |
