| Mating activity is difficult to get near and requires the services of only the best boat captains. Baja Jones has great success at viewing this and other difficult to observe whale behavior. |  |

Gray whales mate in groups of 2 to 6. 3 is the most common group size. Mating takes place at Laguna Ojo de Liebre during January and February. Very few people have the opportunity to witness this dramatic reproductive activity. |
