Here
are the details. Periodically during the whale watching season I will leave early
Friday afternoon for Guerrero Negro. I arrive in town around 12:00 midnight or even
1:00 or 2:00 A.M.The drivedown
trips are temporarily on hold. Instead we are now offering a weekend flydown
adventure. Click here for all the details.
We get up around 7:00 A.M. Saturday and go
out on whale watching boats for two or three hours. In the afternoon I visit with
friends in town, have dinner and then go to bed early. The whale watching trips last
about 1 1/2 to 2 hours each. Frequently we only do one trip on the water due to the
wind or other weather conditions. If things are good a second trip is usually the
order of the day.
We leave from Guerrero Negro at 4:30 A.M.
Sunday and generally arrive back in the Los Angeles area around 5:00 Sunday
afternoon. This type of trip is of course subject to the usual vagaries of travel in
Baja. Travel times can increase dramatically if there is mechanical trouble or bad
weather.
I keep a phone list of people interested
in the quick trip down. Usually one or two weeks before I go, I will call to find
out if anyone wants to do the trip. We travel in my nearly new Suburban so the trip
is comfortable, if somewhat tiring. Many people don't have the time available for an
extended trip, but they just must see the whales. This is the perfect solution.
Cost of this trip is $500. Meals,
whale watching, lodging and transportation are included. You must be able to meet me
either at a specific location in the Los Angeles area or in San Ysidro at the border.
This isn't for just anyone. You must want to see the whales a lot.
Email me if you have any questions.
